Matariki food

Today Room 25 wanted to celebrate Matariki by meeting with Hamida and Whaea Puhi in the kitchen and they taught us how to make fried bread!
All we needed was: self raising flour and water!
We added lots of flour and then made a hole to put in the water, we scooped it and saturated it with our palms.
Then we kneaded the dough and flatted it out on the table, cut it evenly and then fried it in oil.
But the traditional way to fry it was frying it in dripping which is animal fat but some kids including me don't eat meat often so we just used plain oil!
